What do I need to consider before moving?

Moving into an aged care home will be a new experience for most people. It will be different in that you will be living with many new people all under one roof. Your routines are taken into consideration as much as possible when you move into a new home but you may find that some things will change and we do everything we possibly can to make this transition easy and enjoyable. To find out about Autumn Care's approach to aged care, click here or to discover what life with Autumn Care is like, click here. If you have any questions at any stage of your moving process, please contact us

The Australian Government Dept of Health and Ageing has a great resource to help you understand the considerations in moving. We recommend that you download their booklet 'Five Steps to Entry into Residential Aged Care' on the Dept of Health and Ageing website. Section five of this booklet deals specifically with moving and settling in - it provides advice on the main things you, your family, friends or carer, should be aware of at each of the stages of moving into a residential aged care home.
